How to install a countertop sink?
You don't have to be an expert. Thanks to its countertop design, the sink is easy to install on various types of countertops or on various cabinets where you can drill a hole for the drain.
- Take measurements. As standard, the top edge of the washbasin is approximately 85 - 90 cm high, so when installing the cabinet, subtract the height of the washbasin (in this case: 90 cm - 15.5 cm = 74.5 cm) at this height, you need to install the countertop.
- Adjust the tap. If it is to be countertop mounted, it must be high (the washbasin is 15.5 cm, so we dedicate batteries no less than 22 cm high to provide space for your hands). The tap can be mounted on the back of the sink or on its side. When choosing a flush tap, place it 105 - 110 cm from the floor.
- Cut a hole in the countertop. It will allow the installation of elements such as sink plugs, necessary for proper connection of the installation. The most accurate and at the same time the simplest way will be to place the sink on the counter and trace the size of the hole to be cut. Remember to place the sink at a distance from the wall to ensure you can wash it and the countertop. Under the countertop, check that the distance from the wall and the hole in the wall ensure smooth water drainage.
- Apply silicone to the bottom edges of the sink, then place the entire thing on a cabinet or countertop and let it dry completely after approximately 24 hours.
- Install a siphon and flush or stand-up faucets. Install the plug, then the siphon and finally the drain pipe.
